A community-run engagement hub for the Town of Carlton, NY comprehensive plan.
What is a comprehensive plan?
"A Comprehensive Plan is a long-range policy document designed to guide the future physical, economic, and social development of Carlton. Serving as the Town's blueprint for the next 20 to 30 years, it establishes a shared community vision and identifies the goals, strategies, and actions needed to achieve the vision."

Is this the official Town of Carlton site?
No. PlanCarlton.org is a community-run engagement site, built and maintained by residents. It is not affiliated with, operated by, or endorsed by the Town of Carlton, its Town Board, or its Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee.
The Town's own comprehensive plan process is being led by the Steering Committee with consulting support from Genesee/Finger Lakes Regional Planning Council (G/FLRPC). For official notices and questions about the process itself, contact Jenny Loewenstein at G/FLRPC.
Why bother, then?
Because the official process — weeknight workshops, printed handouts, comment cards — leaves a lot of people out. This site is an experiment in whether we can open up the plan enough that everyone has a real chance to read it, react to it, and shape it, regardless of whether they can make it to the Rec Hall on a Tuesday night.

How do you use my input?
Everything posted publicly here is public. Comments, submissions, and forum threads are curated and shared with the Steering Committee as community input. Comments here do not replace submitting official comments to the Town at public hearings — they supplement them. We don't sell data, don't run ads, and don't track you beyond what's necessary to keep the site working.
